The present owners who inherited the site in 2003 have recently made dramatic improvements to the site so that it is now a comfortable, spot for a relaxing family holiday. The lovely old stone-faced outbuildings house many of the services and the surrounding parkland includes a forest of hundred year old oaks and several fishing lakes. It is tucked away in the heart of the Vendeen countryside 12km from the beaches at Brétignolles and walking distance of the village of St Julien-des-Landes.

Small shop for basics. Little supermarket in village. Pretty welcoming bar, restaurant, take-away - all laid out in the outbuildings of the château. Fridge, barbecue and micro-wave hire. Barbecues allowed. Dogs accepted. Free Wi-Fi connection.
An attractive new covered swimming pool on east side of the château, heated to 27°, 16m x 8m with children's pool and sunloungers inside and out. The second pool on the west side is outside about 18m x 8m and more suitable for adults and those who enjoy a good swim.

FRom A83 take the A87 towards Les Sables d'Olonne. The motorway ends and the road becomes the D160. Take the exit at La Mothe Achard Est and follow the D12 towards La Mothe Achard and at the roundabout take the third exit onto the D760. Continue into La Mothe Achard and turn right onto the D12 in the direction of St Julien-des-Landes. As you enter the village turn right on D55, rue de la Forêt, towards Martinet. The site entrance is 100m on your left.
