South West France
Selected as this is a great site for an overnight stop as well as a longer stay because of its easy access to the centre of Bordeaux. It was first opened in 2009 and is attractively laid out on a series of small fishing lakes and ponds. Its bar restaurant is open all year round seven days a week. Buses and trams take you directly to the centre of town and it is possible to cycle into town on a special cycle track. The site is also walking distance of Bordeaux's brand new sports stadium, where European football cup fixtures will be held in 2016. Bordeaux Merignac airport is only 12km away.
