Northern France
Selected because of its proximity to the port of Calais and the Eurotunnel terminal and its setting in the grounds of an attractive 19th century château, still inhabited by the friendly owners. Its creamy stone-faced walls and grey slate roof dominate the wooded park where some of the beautiful trees are 100 years old. The pretty outbuildings and courtyard are impressive features. A verdant, spacious setting which is well maintained complements the warm friendly atmosphere. Its proximity to the ports means that it can be very busy in high season as there are a large number of arrivals and departures each day. A longer stay is highly recommended.
