Selected because this is an attractive, very well maintained site, 20m from a stretch of pebbly beach and 10-minute drive from St Mère Eglise where the D-Day landings started on 6th June 1944. There is a pleasant open feel to the site which is an ideal base for visiting the area. It offers comfortable amenities and a warm family atmosphere. Local species of tree are labelled and the animal park is a great attraction for the children. A good low season choice as the swimming-pool is covered and most of the services are open.

From Cherbourg Port. Follow directions for Caen/St Michel on the N13, continuing past the town of Valognes. Take the Ste Mère Eglise exit and in the centre of town take the D15 signposted to Ravenoville (6km), and then follow signs to Ravenoville-Plage (3km). Then turn right onto the D421 towards Utah beach and the site is 500m further on, on your right and opposite the beach.
