Selected as this site is near the centre of the pretty, little town of Tarascon in the heart of the Pyrénées. It is 470m high and laid out in straight lines along the banks of the Ariège river. The beautiful wide tree-lined alleys give it a spacious feel. The site is called Pré Lombard as its field or 'pré' is where an army of Lombards from Italy stayed prior to a battle in 788. It is a great starting point for numerous walks and cycle rides in the area.

The recently renovated swimming pool complex is attractively laid out with banana trees and plants surrounded by hedges with a grassy area next to the sun terrace and sun loungers. The heated L-shaped swimming-pool is 20m x 8m. The good paddling-pool is divided into two parts:0.2m deep and 0.4m deep. Spa area next to the pool. Open 1st May - 30th Sept.
Five toilet blocks, separate ladies and gents, one heated in low season. All respectable and well maintained but nothing special. Push button showers no temperature control with hook and shelf. Individual wash cubicles. Toilets with toilet paper. Showers and washbasins together in one block. Disabled facilities and laundry in two blocks, baby room in one. Chemical waste point.
The site is situated to the south of the centre of Tarascon-sur-Ariège on the banks of the river. Fom Foix take the N20 to Tarascon. As you enter the town stay on the N20 and the site is well-signposted to the left. The route takes you towards the town centre and then turns right to follow the river. The site entrance is on your right just after you cross the river where it takes a sharp bend.
