Surrounded by stunning scenery, the site overlooks the fishing lake and the small nearby village. It is an ideal place for a relaxing break as well as a good base from which to explore the attractions of the area. It is popular with all those who enjoy outdoor activities particularly bird watchers and walkers. There is an infinite variety of mountain activities available nearby such as trekking, canoe/kayaking, rafting, paragliding, hang-gliding and horse riding.

In July/August theme evenings when a guide gives a slide show on all the nearby activities in the Pyrenees like walking, rafting or riding. No other organised activities, so evenings are very quiet.

In the high season only from end of June to 9th Sep, a small shop selling basics - pre-order bread - and a small bar serving beer, cold drinks, coffee, snacks and take-away meals which also have to be ordered in advance. Barbecues allowed. Fridge hire. Dogs accepted. Free Wi-fi connection in area near reception. Restaurant in village.
Pretty heated swimming pool 13m x 6m open 15th June - 10th Sept with sun terrace.
Two modern, spacious and exceptionally clean unisex toilet blocks, one by the reception and one at the other end of the site by the swimming pool. One has a laundry with two washing machines and two tumble dryers plus baby facilities and the other has disabled facilities. Toilet paper provided. Push button showers which are attractively tiled with hooks and individual wash cubicles. Chemical disposal point.
From the A64 take 11 or 12 to Lourdes. Then follow the D821 to Argelès-Gazost. At the roundabout at the end of the dual carriageway section turn right following signs to Argelès-Cauterets. At the next roundabout turn left to Pierrefitte-Cauterets. Continue straight on over a mini-roundabout and at the next roundabout turn right to Arcizans-Avant. Follow signs to Arcizans-Avant via Saint Savin and the campsite is well signposted.
