Selected because of its stunning location on an island in the middle of the Loire and the views it enjoys of Saumur and its wonderful château. It has undergone considerable refurbishment recently making it a good spot for long and short stays. The centre of Saumur is also only a 10-minute walk away. It is a busy site as there is a large turnover of visitors.

Three toilet blocks well dispersed throughout the site. The middle block has been updated recently, although the other two are quite acceptable. Toilets with toilet paper. Showers and washbasins in middle block. Temperature controlled showers, with hook, shelf and rail. Individual wash basins. From A85 North of Saumur. Take exit 3 toward Saumur. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Canton de Perray/D767 Continue to follow D767 for 0.5 km. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto D347 ring road to the west of Saumur.At the junction with the D952 head towards Saumur - turn right and then double back under the ring road. Follow the river and cross the Loire at the first bridge. At the roundabout take the third exit onto Quai du Roi Rene and continue onto Rue de Verden. The site entrance is 0.5 km on your left. From South or East join the ring road until you cross the Loire and then follow directions as above.
