Selected because of its unique location right on the Loire river. It offers attractive views across to Gien which is just a 10-minute walk away. It has a lovely French atmosphere and an open spacious feel. It is also great centre for visiting the châteaux, vineyards and towns of the Eastern Loire region. The owners actively encourage walkers, cyclists and canoeists providing use of a freezer, microwave and picnic tables by the river.

Pitches are flat and grassy laid out in rows along the river. They are divided by trees, but are not hedged, giving a lovely open feel to the site. The pitches next to the river are for tents and do not have electrical hook-up.

Shop for fruit, vegetables, local wines and cheeses with bread available June to Sep and open all year. Bar/Restaurant Port-Gallier open also to general public with lovely views from terrace over the river and Gien. There is also a baker's, bar and newsagents about a 5-min walk from the site. Barbecues allowed. Dogs accepted. Wi-Fi throughout site with small charge.

Two plastic bottomed pools. The larger one is heated and can be covered in low season. The second children's pool is not heated or covered. They are not particularly attractive and the worst feature of the site.
Two toilet blocks which are quite acceptable, but quite old. Toilets with toilet paper. Showers with temperature control and a hook. Two showers with washbasins. Individual wash basins with mixer tap. Disabled facilities, baby room. Chemical waste point. Laundry.
Take the D940 ring road to the south of the Gien. Turn right towards the town centre at the junction with the D941. Continue to the river and turn left towards Sully on the D951 Quai de Sully. After 0.5km turn right into Rue des Iris and the site entrance is 50m on your right.
