Selected as this very well maintained site, renowned for its beautiful display of trees, plants and shrubs offers lots of activities for the children. It has its own man-made lake ideal for swimming and boating. Hidden in the heart of the Auvergne, 1km from Murol, in a region of extinct volcanoes where the mountains rise to over 1500m. It is also very close to the beautiful Lac Chambon. The site is well positioned for visiting the whole region and is ideal for those who enjoy the mountains, walking and mountain biking. Superb aqua parc with total surface area of 2,500m². Outdoor area 400m² includes waterfalls and artificial rocks, geysers and bridges, water cannons, a 4-lane waterslide, a lazy river, a jacuzzi. Paddling pool. 200m heated covered pool which is excellent for swimming. The aqua parc, waterslides and baby-pool are heated in July and August. Large sun terrace with sun loungers.
Five unisex toilet blocks. Adequately equipped and well maintained, but nothing special. Block nearest reception could do with being refurbished as it is very dark. Other two blocks are more modern. Push button showers, no temperature control, with hooks. Individual wash basins. Toilet paper not provided. Disabled facilities. Baby room. Separate laundry. Chemical waste point.
From Clermont Ferrand. Take A75 south and exit at junction 6 in the direction of St Nectaire. Continue to the town of Murol and turn left and then turn right opposite the Tourist Office. La Ribeyre is the second site along just after the entrance to Jassat and is well marked on the left. From Issoire. Take exit 14 from A75 and follow the ring road to the west of the town. Follow signs to Champeix along the D996 then continue as above.
