Alps
Selected because this small family-run site 900m high in the heart of the Chartreuse National Park offers exceptional panoramic views. The Chamechaude a wonderful grey rocky mountain peak 2,082m high presides majestically over the site. It is located between Grenoble and Chambéry, in the grounds of an old Carthusian farmhouse. You are welcomed to this peaceful, relaxing site by a pretty flowery entrance and a variety of different trees. The roads are pebbled not tarmaced. St. Pierre occupies a unique spot at a crossroads to four pretty valleys and is a starting point for numerous hikes and walks. It is also a great area for caving and attracts several caving groups.
