Selected because of its location 1200m high, two minutes from the Swiss border between Mont Blanc and lake Geneva, this site is perfect for summer and winter holidays and for those who appreciate a real Savoyard atmosphere. It is in the heart of the mountains and the fabulous Portes du Soleil ski-ing area, 450m from the nearest cable car. In the summer it is a centre for walking, mountain biking, rafting and pony riding. It is right on a tributary of the river Dranse, and is well-loved by trout fishermen. The site is 1.5km below the centre of the village in a verdant valley and the pitches are laid out on two sides of a quiet mountain road. In summer you can't fail to be impressed by wealth of beautiful flowers throughout the site. Minimum booking period one week in high season and 3 days in low season.

Flat and grassy 80-100m², not hedged, but divided by low fences. Pitches on side opposite reception are more generous and better for large outfits. Breathable groundsheets are essential.

Two very attractive and immaculately maintained blocks, on each side of the road. They have recently been renovated. Unisex showers and wash cubicles but separate ladies and gents toilets with paper outside. Push button temperature controlled showers with hook, shelf and rail. Disabled facilities. Baby room. Drying room for ski gear. Washing machine and tumble dryer. Chemical waste point.
From Thonon-les-Les Bains take the D902 towards Morzine. After 11km turn left onto the D22 to Abondance and Châtel. After 27km you arrive on the outskirts of Châtel. Fork right onto the D230 after 4.5km you will see a chair lift in front of you turn left here then left again into Rue des Freinets and the site entrance is on your left.
