Selected because this family run site occupies a unique position less than a 10-min walk along the River Indre to the centre of the royal medieval city of Loches. It also offers easy access from the main arteries through the Loire Valley.
As the name of the site suggests it is famous for its magnificent château and ramparts.
From the edge of the site, you have a view of the three towers, the Church, the Logis Royal and La Tour St Antoine. The weir and display of potted plants at the site entrance create a welcoming atmosphere and complement the lovely variety of trees around the pitches.
Flat and grassy, divided by low hedges and split into two separate areas of 86 standard pitches 90m² - 110m² and 31 luxury pitches 130m² - 200m². 6 Gold pitches around 180 to 200 m² with an exceptional view of the town, equipped with your own WC,a small shed, fridge, cold water point, garden furniture, 2 sunbeds, parasol, barbecue and a free Wi-Fi connection. 11 Pitches at reduced rate 50m² for overnight stop 18:00 - 10:00 only.

The large pitches have very little shade.

Small aqua complex on site with heated pool and paddling pool. Sun terrace with sun loungers and parasols. Municipal pool next to the site is now closed.

A variety of organised entertainment in July/August including a children’s club, sports activities, wine and cheese tasting. There are occasional evening concerts.
Three toilet blocks which are respectable but are getting old. Push button temperature control showers with hooks and rail. Individual wash basins, toilets with seats and toilet paper. Block by swimming pool has some family rooms - showers and washbasins together. Disabled facilities. Baby room. Washing machines and tumble dryers. Chemical waste point.
No shop but pre-order bread and croissants. Bar/snack which serves take-aways and pizzas open from mid-June. Shops, bars and restaurants in town. Barbecues allowed. Dogs accepted - special dog walking area. Wi-Fi connection on all pitches.
From the North. Take the ringroad to the west of the town following signs to the campsite. From the roundabout at the south of the town head towards the town centre. The campsite entrance is on your right after about 500m and is accessed through the car park to the municipal swimming pool.
From the South. Head towards the town centre from the roundabout on the ring road and follow directions as above.
